IDEAL CUSTOMERS: A great referral for me is someone who wants to create a lasting impact in the community. There are three key ways to get involved and help us continue making a difference:
  • Sponsor or Present: Be a sponsor for a campaign or initiative that supports our programs. Invite us to present at schools, offices, or community events.
  • Make a Connection: Introduce us to businesses, local leaders, or potential donors. Connect us with foundations, corporate partners, or grant opportunities.
  • Volunteer & Support Social Enterprise: Volunteer individually or with your workplace team. Support our Bike Me Up program offering affordable bike tune-ups for everyday bicycles.

About Start Me Up Niagara

At Start Me Up Niagara, we believe in the power of transformation through support, connection, and opportunity. Celebrating 25 years of service in 2025, we are proud to be a dynamic non-profit organization dedicated to helping individuals and families in the Niagara region overcome significant life challenges—such as poverty, unemployment, compromised mental health, substance misuse, food insecurity, and homelessness.

We offer a wide range of integrated programs and services designed to meet people where they are and help them move forward. These include our Resource Centre, Niagara Mobile Closet, Mini Closets & Tiny Closets, Bike Me Up, Work Action Centre, From Our Garden, Income Tax Program, medical services, and food program. Each initiative is designed to foster dignity, build skills, and restore hope.

We rely on the generous financial support of our community, including endowments, legacy giving, family foundations, sponsorships, and individual donors, to help us continue making a lasting impact. One of our key fundraising events is the Annual Coldest Night of the Year St. Catharines Walk, which aims to raise funds and awareness for people in the community who are struggling with physical, emotional, or mental pain ("hurting"), food insecurity ("hungry"), or lack of stable, affordable housing ("homeless").

Through compassion, innovation, and collaboration, Start Me Up Niagara is creating a stronger, more inclusive Niagara region—one life and one family at a time.
